As a Mohs Surgery Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Mohs surgical team in diagnosing and treating skin cancer patients using the Mohs micrographic surgery technique.

This position requires a strong commitment to patient care, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced medical environment.

You will assist in surgical procedures, maintain surgical equipment, and provide essential support to ensure the efficient operation of the Mohs surgery center.


MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide support for the surgical team, which includes all functions of a surgical medical assistant.
Assist in the examination and procedures for patients with providers.
Maintains confidentiality when interacting with patients, families, personnel, and the public.

Assist in the supervision of work and performance of clinic staff including medical assistants and other support staff, as instructed, including input for performance reviews and corrective action plans as needed.

Assess the medical education needs of the patient and provide education as directed by the provider.
Discharge patients by giving all patient documents and provider instructions.
Perform laboratory and diagnostic procedures.
Provide education and instructions on surgical, lab, and diagnostic results, and medication refills by telephone and in-person for patients.
Keep patient exam rooms and MA stations stocked with surgical supplies and organized.
Review the provider's schedule throughout the day and prior to the start of shift to ensure


Qualifications:

Previous experience in a surgical or dermatology setting is preferred.

Basic knowledge of medical terminology and patient care principles.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.


Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, and lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) as necessary.

Manual dexterity and ability to operate surgical instruments.

Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends, depending on surgery schedules.

Pay:
$ $24.00 per hour
