    Description

    We are currently seeking a Freelance Technical Designer to work on men's and women's loungewear for a leading fashion company based in New York City. This position is on a contract basis, with some great benefits.

    Position Overview:

    • Contribute to Tech Pack handovers and offer technical assistance to the Design team for creating detailed sketches during the development phase
    • Comprehend Design requirements and incorporate size charts into the Centric system
    • Collaborate with Hub / SCFT for proto / SMS production, both physical and digital samples, ensuring accurate translation of desired aesthetic and fit
    • Lead the risk evaluation process with Supply, RM & QA to minimize risks during production
    • Coordinate fit sessions and communicate technical feedback with the Design & Supply teams
    • Provide detailed fit comments to address fit and aesthetic issues and progress towards approval
    • Follow up on risk mitigation actions and testing reports with the cross-functional team
    • Maintain the block samples & fit samples library
    • Handle day-to-day emails and follow-ups efficiently
    • Assist in creating new blocks and projects

    Requirements:

    • 8-10 years of experience in a Technical Design role preferred
    • Knowledge of pattern making, garment construction, and detail orientation is a plus
    • Degree in Technical Design or relevant work experience
    • Specific expertise in performance wear
    • Well-organized with strong time management skills and understanding of product development processes
    • Excellent verbal & written communication skills with a proactive approach
    • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment
    • Self-motivated team player with a keen eye for detail and superior interpersonal skills
    • Proficiency in PC tools like Excel, Word, Power Point, Illustrator
    • Experience with 3D, Browzwear, PLM Centric is beneficial
    • Strong team player
