    Electrical Engineer - Medical Device Design (EMC & WiFi Focus)

    About the Role:

    The Ranger Group is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in the design and development of a cutting-edge medical device. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in EMC, Wi-Fi technology, and medical device safety standards (IEC to revise and optimize existing designs.

    Responsibilities:

    • Analyze and modify existing electrical schematics and PCB layouts for the medical device.
    • Maintain compliance with medical device safety standards (IEC with a focus on EMC and wireless coexistence.
    • Collaborate with mechanical engineers to ensure electrical design considerations are integrated throughout the development process.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical design issues related to signal integrity, power management, and thermal performance.
    • Understand and utilize cabling best practices for routing, ethernet, USB, and power connections.
    • Familiarity with microprocessors, RAM, and general embedded computing components.
    • Experience with antenna design principles and their impact on signal strength is crucial.
    • Participate in thermal testing activities.
    • Proficiency in a design tool is required (Altium preferred, but open to experience with other tools).

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
    • Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical design, with a strong focus on EMC and Wi-Fi technology.
    • Proven experience in revising and optimizing existing electrical designs.
    • In-depth understanding of medical device safety standards (IEC with a focus on EMC and wireless coexistence.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
    • On-site availability is required in Miami/Fort Lauderdale area (5 days a week).
