Busy boutique estate planning law firm in Brighton, MA seeks experienced estate planning/estate administration legal administrative assistant for a full-time position.
Responsibilities
- Assists and supports lawyers, paralegals and other staff with their work as needed.
- Enhances attorney effectiveness by providing informationmanagement support and representing the attorney(s) to clients and others.
- Welcomes guests and clients by greeting them in person or on the telephone, and by answering or directing inquiries.
- Reads, reviews, verifies, and routes correspondence, reports, and legal documents.
- Drafts, revises, edits and/or proofreads letters and other written documents.
- Organizes client meetings or other meetings for multiple attorneys.
- Meets all deadlines.
- Maintains attorney calendar by planning and scheduling meetings and conferences.
- Represents attorney by communicating on their behalf and obtaining information, followingup on delegated assignments, and knowing when to act and when to refer matters to attorney.
Maintains the highest level of confidentiality.
- Scans/Files all necessary documents into Firm data management system.
Qualifications
- Comprehensive understanding of the estate planning and administration processes;
- Must have 3+ years as an estate planning legal administrative assistant;
- Strong attention to detail, excellent spelling and proofreading skills;
- Excellent interpersonal skills, and verbal and written communication skills;
- Knowledge of drafting estate plan documents is encouraged
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multitask;
- Forward thinker;
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision;
- Knowledge and understanding of a law office environment, dress code, manners and expecations;
- A teamoriented attitude and professional demeanor;
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information;
- Advanced degree preferred, but not required.
Software knowledge
- Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat;
- Tabs3, GEMS, Practice Master, EstateWorks, and VISIO (will train on these programs).
Salary
$60,000 + and commensurate with experience.
