    DevOps Engineer (Database Specialization)

    Location: Austin, Texas

    Exacta Systems is an industry leader that provides robust innovative solutions to gaming entertainment.

    We are looking for a DevOps Engineer with a specialization in Database Management and Optimization to become a key player in our dynamic team. This role is designed for a true professional who thrives in interfacing with stakeholders and contributing across various stages of the Software Development Life Cycle.

    Who You Are:

    You are a seasoned DevOps professional with a deep-seated knowledge and expertise in database management. With your advanced skills, you aim to ensure the highest levels of data integrity, performance, and scalability. You are seeking a role where you can apply your extensive knowledge and make a significant impact.

    What you will do:

    • Interface with key stakeholders to deliver technical solutions across different stages of the Software Development Life Cycle.
    • Employ your proficiency in SQL, PostgreSQL, and PL/pgSQL to enhance database functionalities and performance.
    • Lead the design and implementation of database triggers and views to automate processes and optimize data retrieval.
    • Ensure database health through comprehensive understanding and application of the PostgreSQL vacuum process.
    • Manage large-scale database environments, focusing on performance tuning and scalability.
    • Develop and implement robust database replication, backup, and recovery strategies.

    What we are looking for

    • Location: Must be within commuting distance of Austin, Texas, or be willing to relocate.
    • Technical Proficiency: in SQL and PostgreSQL, with a strong grasp of PL/pgSQL for advanced database functionalities. Experience with MongoDB, Kafka data pipeline, and/or would also be a plus.
    • Experience: in designing and implementing database triggers, developing and managing materialized and standard views for optimized data retrieval.
    • In-depth Knowledge: of the PostgreSQL vacuum process to maintain database health.
    • Proven Capability: in managing large-scale databases with a focus on performance tuning and scalability.
    • Expertise: in database replication, backup, and recovery strategies.
