Job Summary

Responsibilities:

  • Shepherd and augment the existing grants process and create new processes as necessary.
  • Work across AUTMHQ departments to create, revise, and analyze workflow processes and procedures to support the grantmaking process.
  • Ensure program and staff capacity to meet funding criteria and deadlines.
  • Develop and distribute financial reports to track progress for funders and AUTMHQ.
  • Create and maintain charts, graphs, spreadsheets, databases, etc.
  • Organize and update files, charts, lists, etc., as needed.
  • Manage the storage of documents in Teams.
  • Monitor changes to grant submission portals and procedures and ensure ongoing compliance with supporter requirements.
  • Support the writing and submission of state and federal grant proposals.
  • Manage compliance standards in accordance with funder requirements and/or government regulations.
  • Actively engage in ongoing prospect research that identifies funding opportunities that offer a favorable return on investment and advance strategic priorities.
  • Serve as liaison between team members.
  • Provide effective coordination of activities for prospective and current funding organizations, including site visits and prospect/cultivation/stewardship meetings.
  • Within the initial 3 months, develop a strong knowledge and understanding of key staff and program and policy areas, and the protocols for effective communications and interactions within the organization.
  • Partner with the Marketing Department to develop multichannel written content for development campaigns and events to increase individual giving.
  • Offer input on new projects and see them to fruition.
  • Track partner relationship interactions and engage with partners as needed.
  • Keep an organized ledger of current and potential funders.
  • Foster good working relationships with current and potential funders.
  • Keep a master calendar of funding and reporting.
  • Represent AUTMHQ in the community and at events.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications


To perform this job successfully, an individual should possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed and meet the amount of education, training and/or work experience required.


Education

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field, preferred.

Experience

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in grant writing and development, required.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in grant writing and development, preferred.
  • Social services experience in support of diverse communities, preferred.
  • Proven ability to secure government and private funding.
  • Experience successfully soliciting local, regional, and national foundations and a proven track record of securing new foundation grants, required.
  • Experience preparing persuasive, clear, concise, and visually attractive proposals/reports.
  • Ability to be innovative about potential funding opportunities beyond traditional partnerships.
  • Experience fostering an organizationwide culture of philanthropy, preferred.
  • Able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and funding goals, and simultaneously manage multiple priorities while maintaining a calm, professional work style.
  • Previous success meeting agency fundraising goals, through diverse funding streams.
  • Soliciting major gifts (of at least $5,000) and donations/sponsorships via events, a plus.
  • Experience building and maintaining strong relationships with staff, clients, and community partners through regular meetings and communications, required.
  • Experience stewarding funder and partner relationships, preferred.
