Position Summary
LGBT Network is seeking a full-time Program Assistant in the Long Island Region. The Program Assistant is responsible for providing administrative, programmatic, and community center operations support to the Program Department. The Program Assistant reports to the Chief Program Officer.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Administrative Support_
  • Perform various data entry activities, including program participant utilization, contact information, and demographic data into various organization databases
  • Assist with data management, compilation of program reports, and grant reports
  • Assist the Chief Program Officer in program department operations and special projects
  • Community Center Support _
  • Assist the Program Team with the coordination and delivery of programs, including supporting the coordination of largescale events
  • Assist with supporting and growing the agency's Volunteer Program
  • Help to keep the center clean, neat, and organized
  • Help set up and break down for programs and events at the center and in the community

  • Additional Responsibilities_
  • Conduct communitybased outreach activities to identify and engage program participants, including identifying new opportunities to connect and engage LGBT people
  • Manage data entry and upkeep of the LGBT Services Directory, listing LGBTaffirming providers
  • Participate in largescale programs and events, such as the annual LGBT Youth Conference, LGBT Families Day, and various Pride Initiatives
  • Work on special operations projects and other duties as assigned

Qualification Requirements

  • One year of work experience, preferably in the nonprofit field or Associate's degree
  • Excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Canva, and social media
  • Good interpersonal and networking skills
  • Solid written, verbal, and problemsolving skills
  • Quick learner with motivation for professional development with opportunities for growth
  • Passion and motivation to be a part of the LGBT Network movement to help LGBT people to be themselves, stay healthy, and change the world
  • People who represent the community being served are strongly encouraged to apply
  • Flexible work schedule is a must, as this position requires working afterschool and evenings and some weekends for inperson events, services, and outreach activities
  • Reliable public transportation and a valid driver license, as this position requires travel throughout Long Island, including Nassau, Western / Central Suffolk, and the East End.
