Description
Job DescriptionThe Massage Therapist provides modified massage therapy and guided meditation to all appropriate patients as assigned. This includes family and professional caregivers and hospital personnel referred by massage program coordinator and/or other clinical team members/ colleagues.
Responsibilities
1.Provides support and comfort to patients, family members and caregivers through therapeutic massage, relaxation and self-care techniques.
2.Provides opportunities to teach about massage therapy and its therapeutic benefits, through hands-on work and didactic education.
3.Participates in documenting session data specific to the massage therapy provided.
4.Assists with regular staff self-care and chair massage sessions.
5.Communicates with staff regarding referrals.
6.Maintains current knowledge of field through continued education and self-study.
7.Performs other related duties
