Audit Consultant

What you will be doing:


  • Supports the review of draft audit findings and works with grantees to identify possible explanations for exceptions.
  • Supports grantees in compiling information to support circumstantial evidence for exceptions for responses to draft findings.
  • Collaborates with grantees to develop corrective action/remediation plans to resolve audit findings.
  • Provides technical assistance to grantees to execute corrective actions and evidence completion of remediation activities for audit resolution.
  • Reconcile financial systems against internal spreadsheets, including status of funds and obligations reports, to ensure accuracy and proper data entry.
  • Draft quarterly accruals
  • Draft/review regular Fixed Asset and Capitalization exercises
  • Assist in review and drafting of Treasury 7600 A&B (IAA (Interagency Agreement)) forms for proper execution.

Qualities and skills you need to have:

  • Ability to interface professionally with the client and provide expertise as needed.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing

  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes, business environment and client initiatives.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail.

Education and experience we're looking for:

  • Four year college degree
  • Five or more years of federal financial management experience
  • Financially relevant Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circulars, including OMB Circular A11 and A136, and any other relevant OMB and US Treasury guidance
  • 2 CFR 200
  • Federal Audit Process
  • Federal Grants Administration Process
  • HAVA Grant Objectives (Ideal situation but not necessary)
  • This work is remote with an occasional need to be onsite for meetings. Estimate 1 to 2 times a month, if needed.
