Description
The
Accounts Payable Specialist assists with controlling payments and expenses. The individual must have the capability to receive, process, verify and reconcile invoices and billing statements.


Responsibilities:


  • Post business transactions, process invoices, verify financial data for use in maintaining accounts payable records
  • Provide other clerical support necessary to pay the obligations of the organization
  • Maintain meticulous records of outstanding payables
  • Ensure the accuracy of an organization's financial documents for payment, auditing, and tax purposes
  • Protect businesses against unintentional overpayment
  • Practice effective monitoring to ensure payments are made to vendors in a timely manner.
  • Clarify any questionable invoice items, prices or receiving signatures
  • Assemble and review invoices to be completed for payment
  • Maintain copies of vouchers, invoices or correspondence necessary for files
  • Obtain proper information and/or data regarding invoice payments
  • Input daily bookkeeping and record keeping
  • Verify invoices against purchase orders and ensure goods or services were received before issuing payment to vendors
  • Migrate data from purchasing side to QuickBooks on a weekly basis
  • Reconciliation of vendor statement to General ledger
  • Responding to client and internal inquiries
  • Support Senior Accountant in requirements from External Auditors and Tax accountants
  • Other accounting workloads and Adhoc projects as needed

Skills and Qualifications:


  • Ability to track budget expenses
  • Attention to detail, thoroughness, organization
  • Ability to analyze information
  • Knowledge of standard accounting principles
  • Strong computer skills
  • Detailed Oriented with meticulous data entry skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Project oriented and ability to plan and manage workloads on their own
  • Team player with a willingness to help with anything to get the job done
  • Enjoy problemsolving

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred
  • 13 years of experience as G/L accountant
  • Proficiency at the basic level of accounting and knowledgeable of accounting concepts
  • Computer Literacy in a Windows environment with emphasis in Word, Advanced Excel and Outlook (Pivot tables and Vlookups a must)
  • Experience with Net Suite and/or QuickBooks preferable
  • Speak, read, write, and understand English
  • Department of Justice Background Check
  • Satisfactory Completion of Health/Drug Screening
  • Proof of legal US work eligibility
