Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing workplace safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Providing personnel with safetyrelated information such as training sessions, emergency protocols, and proper use of safety equipment.
- Reviewing existing policies and procedures to ensure they are up to date
- Performing safety audits and physically inspecting all work areas and jobsites to identify possible safety issues.
- Conducting risk assessments to minimize workplace accidents, occupational illnesses or longterm health hazards.
- Will sit in on disciplinary action discussions with Manager and employee, give input in regard to safety violations.
- Preparing monthly or annual safety reports and presenting the information to management.
- Make sure that the entire workplace (including employees) is in compliance with industry, state, and other companyrelated safety guidelines or rules
- Conduct routine safety audits as at when due
- Carry out safety training programs for company employees on regular basis
- Develop processes via which collection of data on the causes of industrial accidents can be done with ease
- Implement initiatives to reduce the level of workrelated accidents and/or occupational hazards
- Direct and supervise the general safety guidelines and procedures in the particular organization
- Investigate accidents to find out their causes; and also take care of employees' compensation
- Inspect and/or monitor the daily operations of employees to make sure they are in compliance with safety policies and laws
- Inspect and check organization's equipment and machinery to make sure they are not in conditions that are not safe
- Report back to company's top management team as regards safety
Skills:
- Training development: Ability to design and deliver effective safety training programs to company personnel and crews
- Root cause analysis: Proficiency in identifying underlying causes of accidents or incidents
- Occupational health: Understanding of workplace health hazards and prevention measures
- Fabricate: Ability to fabricate or modify safety equipment as needed
- Workers compensation law: Familiarity with laws and regulations related to workers' compensation
- Report writing: Strong written communication skills for documenting safety reports, incidents and filings
- OSHA: Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations
- EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety): Understanding of environmental health and safety principles
- First aid: Knowledge of basic first aid procedures
Experience:
Field Construction Experience: 1 YEAR
Safety Experience: 3 Years
Certificates:
- OSHA 40 (MUST HAVE)
- OSHA 80 (plus)
Pay:
$70, $90,000.00 per year
