DESCRIPTION
Firm Risk Management


Firm Risk Management (FRM) supports Morgan Stanley to achieve its business goals by partnering with business units across the Firm to realize efficient risk-adjusted returns, acting as a strategic advisor to the Board and protecting the Firm from exposure to losses as a result of credit, market, liquidity, operational, model and other risks.

Background on the Position


The role will reside within the Firm Risk Management's Stress Testing Team to support the Firm's stress testing programs and capital planning initiatives, managing the stress scenario framework and contributing to broad stress testing activities.

Primary Responsibilities

> Lead scenario design process of Firm stress scenarios and provide economic expertise in the design

> Summarize and communicate complex economic and financial concepts to audiences with a broad range of technical sophistication

> Analyze and present economic and financial data including new developments in national and international economic trends

> Lead updates of portfolio wide stress scenarios, scenario development and design including narratives, macroeconomic and market paths, market shocks

> Host scenario design sessions with key senior stakeholders across the Firm, partner with stakeholders across Firm Risk, Finance, Research in the design of stress tests across regions and legal entities

> Maintain scenario design procedures, ensure controls are performed across scenario development process and execute governance


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience
> Knowledge of economic principles, financial markets and banking is required
> Familiarity with stress testing, scenario design, and CCAR preferred
> Proven leadership abilities and relationship building skills
> Attention to detail and ability to prioritize projects and workload
> Experience working under pressure and performing to tight deadlines
> Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal


Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $160,000 and $250,000 per year at the commencement of employment.

However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
