Responsibilities:


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Commercial Plumbing Department Management:

-
Managing: Oversee and manage all aspects of the commercial plumbing department, including service and new construction projects. Develop and implement strategies to maximize department efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

Estimating: Prepare accurate and detailed estimates for commercial plumbing projects, including both service and new construction work. Evaluate project specifications, materials, labor costs, and other relevant factors to ensure competitive and profitable bids.

Job Costing: Monitor project costs and expenses to ensure they stay within budget. Analyze job costing reports to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities. Work closely with field staff to address any cost overruns or issues. Facilitate billing and collections for completed projects.

Project Management: Oversee, schedule, and manage commercial plumbing projects from inception to completion. Coordinate with project stakeholders, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure timely and successful project delivery. Monitor project progress, resolve any issues or conflicts, and ensure quality workmanship.

Team Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to the commercial plumbing team, including plumbers, apprentices, project managers, and administrative staff. Delegate tasks effectively, set clear expectations, and ensure all team members are working together towards common goals. Lead the team toward growth within the department.

Client Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients throughout the project lifecycle to provide updates, address concerns, and ensure satisfaction. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to generate repeat business and referrals.

Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment. Negotiate pricing and terms to secure favorable agreements and maximize department profitability.

Quality Assurance: Ensure that all commercial plumbing work meets industry standards, regulations, and client specifications for quality and safety. Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to identify and address any issues or deficiencies

Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols on job sites. Conduct regular safety meetings, provide training and resources to staff, and enforce safety procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.

Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, invoices, and project reports. Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and submitted on time to facilitate proper billing and payment. Ensure all proper State and local plumbing forms and/or permits are filled out and filed as required. Register RPB valves.


Apprenticeship Program Coordinator

Professional Development: Stay current with industry trends, advancements, and regulations related to plumbing and apprenticeship programs. Attend training sessions, workshops, and conferences to enhance knowledge and skills.

Community Engagement: Represent the company and the apprenticeship program at community events, job fairs, and industry forums to promote awareness and recruitment.

Communication: Maintain open and transparent communication with apprentices, union representatives, company leadership, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and collaboration.

Supervision and Evaluation: Supervise apprentices' work performance and progress, providing feedback, guidance, and support as needed. Conduct regular performance evaluations and assessments to track apprentices' development and address any areas for improvement.

Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with all program requirements, including attendance, hours worked, and training hours completed. Maintain accurate records and documentation of apprentices' progress, attendance, and performance.


Qualifications:


Skills and Qualifications

_ Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Master Plumber__,_ with a proven track record in estimating, job costing, and management, specifically within a commercial plumbing department.

  • Hold and maintain a valid State of Wisconsin Master Plumber license.
  • Hold and maintain a valid Driver's License.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, codes, and regulations.
  • Experience with both service and new construction projects in a commercial setting.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in computerized estimating and project management software.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
