About the UHRH Podiatry Residency Program and the training
University Hospitals Regional Hospital Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency Program is located in
Northeast Ohio. Our program’s training is 3 years in duration, focused in forefoot and rearfoot surgery and
reconstruction.
First year consisted of mostly Podiatry related rotation such as wound care clinic, inpatient management,
outpatient management and operating room experiences and 10 weeks of Internal Medicine, 4 weeks of
Emergency Medicine, 2 weeks of Rheumatology, 2 weeks of Psychiatry, 2 weeks of Anesthesia, 2 weeks
of Rehabilitation Medicine, and 2 weeks of General Surgery.
Second year of the training consisted of mostly Podiatry rotations, 8 weeks of Orthopedic and Trauma
rotation, and 2 weeks of Vascular surgery.
I am in my Third year of training, it consists of 12 months of Podiatry rotations.
Our program focuses on all aspects of Podiatry medicine and surgery, such as diabetic foot care, wound
care, limb salvage, sports medicine and trauma in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Our program covers over 10 different UH locations throughout Northeast Ohio and 3 other hospital
systems such as Summa Health in Akron, Barberton and Rittman Ohio, Aultman Main in Canton Ohio and
5 different Cleveland Clinic Hospitals in Cleveland and Canton Ohio. This allows us to see diverse
ailments of different types of patients.
