About Yestyn Griffith:
I am a violinist with experience as a soloist, in chamber music, and as the concertmaster of an orchestra. I have performed in orchestras in Europe and the United States, played with baroque instruments, played in new music ensembles, advised composers, and edited scores. As a teacher I have worked with students from the beginning stages of violin up until college level development. I focus my educational approach on the development of refined and healthy fundamentals to prepare students for a long and rewarding life playing music.
Experience
I have taught in several highschool level academies in both the United States and Europe. I served as the associate concertmaster of the Vanimuine Symphony Orchestra in Tallinn Estonia from 2021-2022, and I am currently the Primary Violinist of the University of Iowa Center for New Music.
Education
I have a Master's in Violin Performance from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre and I am currently in the final stages of getting my Doctorate from the University of Iowa in Violin Performance.
