Yasmin Garcia

I am a future veterinary student with a strong passion for animal health and compassionate care. I have strong skills and practice in animal handling and safe restraint, compassionate animal care, effective communication, and attention to detail. I am especially interested in working with small animals and continuing to develop my knowledge in preventive medicine and clinical care as I pursue a career in veterinary medicine.

I have hands-on experience through Kennel Duty (VETTECH 180) at Los Angeles Pierce College from September to December 2025, where I maintained clean and sanitary kennel environments. I also worked as a Veterinary Technician Intern at VCA Chatoak Animal Hospital in Los Angeles from June to August 2025, assisting with patient restraint, vital signs, subcutaneous injections, nail trims, medication preparation, dental polishing, IV fluid setup, and maintaining organized, sanitary workspaces. Additionally, I volunteered with the MEChA Club at Los Angeles Pierce College from 2022 to 2023, supporting event planning and setup.

I am a dedicated Veterinary Technology student pursuing an Associate Degree in Veterinary Technology at Los Angeles Pierce College in Woodland Hills, CA. I have earned Associate of Arts degrees in General Studies with emphases in Arts and Humanities, Social and Behavioral Sciences, and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, completed between December 2024 and June 2025. I am currently a full-time student completing prerequisite coursework toward admission into the advanced Veterinary Technology program.
