My name is Troy Villarreal and I am currently the CFO for Alice ISD I am seeking an accounting position or a similar position in finance in San Antonio to be closer my family. I have 10 years experience in public education with finance and federal/state compliance and my MBA in Accounting. I am not looking for a stamp on my resume, I am looking for a company I can work for long-term, that is supportive and envision us as growing together as a team to accomplish the same goals.
Experience
As the Chief Financial Officer for Alice Independent School District, I am responsible for overseeing the financial health and compliance of the district’s operations, while ensuring alignment with Texas Education Agency standards and while supporting the district’s educational goals. -On a daily basis, I work collaboratively with the Superintendent, school board members, campus principals and department heads to develop, implement, and monitor the district’s budget, which is essential for maximizing resources for student services, staff development, and infrastructure improvements. My approach is data-driven, with a focus on long-term sustainability and fiscal responsibility. -Currently I am overseeing the administration of a $38 million-dollar bond to fund capital projects within the district. This includes managing financial planning, allocation, and execution of the bond’s objectives, ensuring the projects meet timelines, budgets, and TEA regulations. I work closely with architects, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure that bond funds are used effectively to enhance the district’s infrastructure and educational resources. -I am currently serving as the School Board Election Agent for the Alice ISD 2024-2025 elections, coordinating election procedures and ensuring the accurate administration of voting processes in compliance with legal and district guidelines. My role includes overseeing voter registration, election logistics, and ensuring full transparency and compliance with state laws for a smooth process. -In my role, I directly oversee multiple departments, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and the accounting for all State and Federal Programs. I manage the financial operations for Child and Nutrition, Safety and Security, Maintenance and Operations, and Student Services. My team ensures proper fund allocation, budgeting, and reporting in these key areas while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and district policies.
