My former role as a women’s health associate and lecturer, equipped me to be persuasive in raising
awareness about women’s reproductive health issues, in which I garnered effective communication
skills, while gaining insight into the health field by assisting medical staff with “scrubbing in” before
surgical procedures. As I transitioned into sales, I became acquainted with prospect management,
solicitation, and product expertise. Furthermore, I employed those skills into my volunteer work, and I
enjoyed volunteering for various nonprofits such as, the Right to Life of Indianapolis and The Crisis
Pregnancy Center of Indianapolis and my passion for women's health blossomed, which propelled me
to stay motivated in sharpening my sales skills, while evoking change in the community.
In fact, my most recent position as a COVID-19 Health Investigation Specialist allowed me to further
cultivate my customer service and data entry skills. I was required to keep consistent, careful records
about point-of-contact information in accordance with confidentiality and privacy policies aligned with
HIPAA. Additionally, I became quick to learn and conversant with CRM systems, where I entered
appropriate data to ensure files were up to date in a fast-paced environment, while monitoring progress
via data tools. I practiced empathy and incorporated congeniality in my role during adverse times,
which added value to the calls with clients who contracted the virus under unfortunate circumstances. I
would like to apply these same customer service, organizational, data entry, and sales skills to the
Recruiter role.
