About Teresa Leahy:

I am an instructional designer and e-learning developer. I am committed to analyzing business problems and designing and developing engaging and interactive e-learning solutions. I am always looking for ways to improve learners' experiences. One of my core beliefs as an e-learning specialist is that activating a learner's imagination motivates them to learn in a deeper and more meaningful way. This can produce significant and lasting change for an organization.

One of the projects I am most proud of as an instructional designer was a blended learning project that incorporated both Train the Trainer sessions and Virtual Instructor-Led Training. In addition to designing and developing the training, I also created job aids, facilitator guides, and kits of materials needed for hands-on activities during the training. This project was well received by both stakeholders and participants. This optional training was well attended and participants reflected that it was engaging and worthwhile. It was so rewarding to create enjoyable, memorable learning experiences that led to lasting behavioral change.

🌿Analyzes data to assess learning gaps and identifies learning objectives to address those gaps with a 25% success rate during nine weeks.

🌿Designs engaging learning experiences to target specific learning objectives, resulting in 100% of learners meeting success criteria at the conclusion of the project.

🌿Designed, developed, and implemented engaging ILT, providing real-world context and scenarios, increasing the learners' understanding of objectives 87% of the time, and driving behavior change.

🌿Collaborated with other instructional designers, SMEs, and stakeholders to design ILT to serve 9 organizations. Collaboration included communicating learning targets, brainstorming engaging activities, and exchanging feedback regarding the structure and impact of the training activities.

🌿Developed and delivered VILT using Microsoft PowerPoint and Blackboard Collaborate as a means to reach multiple audiences to address learning gaps in interactive and engaging ways. VILT sessions could serve up 450 participants in one day.

🌿Created job aids and facilitator guides using Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint to accompany ILT and VILT to help instructors execute course instruction.

🌿Developed and implemented training the trainer programs (TTT) using adult learning principles such as Gagne’s Nine Instructional Events to improve learning outcomes and solve targeted problems.

🌿Managed simultaneous projects by prioritizing tasks and using a timeline to maximize productivity and create the capacity to take on new projects.

🌿Used LMS to track learner progress and provide learners with access to content in a flexible way.
