Experience
· My experience with leading diverse groups includes my leadership project managing the Orange County (OC) Sheriff 800 MHz CCCS Radio Joint Agreement Document that manages the County of Orange Radio System. The diverse group I am leading includes, The OC Sheriff Financial Team, Engineers, Administration, and members from County Counsel.
· Led diverse teams while a manager for the County of Orange Emergency Operations Center (EOC). With this leadership role, I led teams responsible for Tsunami Alert & Warning, Alert OC, Operation Areas, PSAPs, Training Operation Technology, and technology training.
· Led teams responsible for Technology Infrastructure, and interdepartmental collaboration to include Communications, Jails, Research & Development, Network, and Security. These initiatives include leading teams that are subject matter experts in their field of technology. Many units partnering together creates cohesion and the ability to meet goals and objectives.
· led teams responsible for Technology that include county employees and contractors. My teams include daily operations and independent projects that span from email, custom applications, intranet, and assets housed in the county data center in Santa Ana.
· During my continued career with the OC Sheriff’s Technology Division, my ability to provide an amicable work environment to staff members by influence and meeting organizational objectives (transformational leadership) is evident by my teams’ achievements. While working for the OC Sheriff’s Technology division, I have led teams across interdepartmental units to meet technology organizational objectives, bettering the usefulness to sworn staff and professionals alike.
· My communication effectiveness is evident by my ability to submit Agenda Staff Reports (ASR’s) to County Counsel, create a statement of work for county contracts, my participation in the re-write of the County of Orange 800 MHz Joint Agreement, creation of policies and procedures, training documents for the EOC, OC Sheriff Departmental Memorandum distributed via email to all staff for Technology outages, and after-action reports submitted to OC Sheriff Senior Management.
· My oral communication style is evident in presenting to OC Sheriff Command Staff meetings, EOC training for Operational Areas that include city, water, and County agencies for technology, conducting performance reviews, and the running of meetings.
· The ability to plan organize and direct is evident with my role as a Project Manager for the Orange County Sheriff 800 MHz CCCS Radio Joint Agreement Document that manages the County of Orange Radio System. The diverse group I am leading includes, The OC Sheriff Financial Team, Engineers, Administration, and members from County Counsel. I have provided formal training for technology ranging from instruction manuals, to collaborating with teams responsible for email systems, laptops in patrol cars, identifying the usefulness with step by step instructions that are easy to follow and relatable to non-techy staff members.
· I have been included in countless oral panels for the County of Orange, working for the OC Sheriff’s Department, responsible for 15 staff members performance reviews that include annual, closeout, promotional, job description write up, and re-classification processes. In addition, throughout my career with the OC Sheriff’s Department, I have been responsible for staff timesheets, vacation requests, bereavement, teams administering petty cash approvals for supplies, and tools used for daily operations.
· I have on numerous occasions worked with OC Purchasing in the bidding process, providing a description of technology commodities that are bid on for services, capital, and operating expenditures. I have created a Scope of Work and included in vendor selection, review, and breach of contract situations.
· My experience with change with work procedures includes the direction from OC Sheriff SAFE and Lexipol, in addition to OC Sheriff Technology specific policies and procedures for technology-driven goals and objectives.
· My educational experience includes my recent Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Organizational Leadership, a Bachelor of Science Business Administration with an emphasis in Computer Information Systems, a certificate from Microsoft for Server Administration, VMware Server Administration Certified, County of Orange Management PDX Certified, and POST Training Civilian Supervisory Course Certified
