Experience

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Prodigy Builders – Material Engineer Houston, Texas (July 2023 – July 2024)
● Managed R&D team in terms of materials testing prior to project initiation for two major projects of Prodigy Builder valued at
$ 9M.
● Headed the analytical testing of material characterization (SEM, AFM, TGA, DSC, FTIR, XRF, XRD& TEM) & defect analysis,
leading to reliable material selection for two successful projects associated with Prodigy Builders.
● Supported CAD engineers with mix design ratio, analyzed, characterized, interpreted, and communicated test data for the OPC
materials to avoid material failure at pre-production, resulting in cost reduction of 12% while retaining customer’s requirements.
● Stepped in as production lead, managing team to resolve manufacturing and material defect analysis & design issues avoiding major
customer feedback saving a potential loss of $250K.
● Supported continuous experimentation & processes for cross functional technical group which included process engineers,
production, technology development and quality control team by providing continuous materials data sheets prior to project initiation.
Real Green Concrete - Senior Material Engineer United Kingdom (Feb 2022 – June 2023)
● Key member in the development of the $8M 'one-step geopolymer' concrete.
● Supported the production team with design ratio experiments on development of Novel Permeable Concrete Technology, resulting
in a $1.34M grant from Innovate UK.
● Directed the technical team in processing method and manufacturing workflow to produce the Ordinary Portland Cement-free
binder.
● Supported cross functional technical group which included production team, technology development team, and scientists with
weekly meetings and consultation sessions.
Malaysian Research & Innovation Society - Material R&D Lead Malaysia (Dec 2014 – Dec 2017)
● Internationally recognized for research in nanomaterials & alumino-silicate composite materials, securing 6 patents and 12 awards.
● Supported nanomaterials (nanofilms for electrical products) , vacuum coating and plastic formulation researchers by creating
detailed project plans resulting in cost reductions of 8% ($1.8M) while maintaining quality standards.
● Invented Novel E-Green Cementitious Paste, projected to save over $2.5M annually in the geopolymer industry, leading to national
and international recognitions (Taiwan, UK, Indonesia, Thailand, Poland and Australia).
● Conducted sample preparation techniques and implemented test plan for complex nanoscale and vacuum coating samples along
with materials characterization techniques (Optical Testing, AFM, FTIR, TGA, DSC, SEM-EDX, Tabletop TEM, X-ray Fluorescence, X Ray Diffractions).
Carsem – Quality Assurance Engineer Malaysia (Dec 2012 – Jan 2014)
● Led a cross-functional team of 2500 people in implementing ISO 14001, ISO 18002, and ISO 9001 standards, resulting in successful
certification and reduced product defects by 25% ($0.9M) within a year.
● Detected and resolved a critical post-production defect, resulting in a 30% ($400K annually) reduction in product rework.
● Facilitated quality assurance and manufacturing improvement programs in the facility.
● Implemented statistical process control techniques that reduced variation in product dimensions by 15% ($500K), leading to tighter
quality tolerances and enhanced product consistency.
Renesas - Process Engineer Malaysia(Jan 2010 – Nov 2012)

● Designed and implemented a new root cause analysis process and corrective actions production issues, resulting in a 70% reduction in scrap generation and enhancing yield rates.
● Improvised existing maintenance system for semiconductor gold wire binding equipment, reducing unplanned downtime by 55% ($13M), leading to employer of the year award in 2010.

ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE

University of Malaysia Perlis -Assistant Professor Malaysia (Apr 2018 – Jan 2021)
