Non-profit / Volunteering
About Saxon Bisbee:
I have managed restoration and maintenance work on Pacific Northwest large transportation artifacts ("legacy equipment") for the past decade. Namely, three of Seattle's historic ships, and more recently railway museum rolling stock. All work is performed according to best standards in historic preservation guidelines as defined by state and federal agencies. My educational background includes environmental science, marine biology, history, and nautical archaeology.
Experience
I have worked in historic preservation with Seattle's historic ships, and more recently with railroad equipment, for over 10 years. I have also been published as a maritime historian and have worked with library special collections and museum archives. My educational background is in maritime history/archaeology but I also have extensive experience performing historic research, reviewing historic preservation compliance standards, grant writing, project management, volunteer coordination, and legacy equipment restoration.
