Research in the soybean genetics lab, generating transgenic soybean plants.
Assisted Lab Manager in maintaining the lab/clean room, making sure all sinks, beakers, test tubes, dishes, bottles, trays and instruments were clean and sterile.
- Made sure all sizes of pipette tips were always in stock, organized, sterilized and ready for use.
- Monitored stock levels of all ingredients: distilled water, nutrients, minerals, agar, antibiotics and antifungals, as well as pre-mixed media.
- Also helped in other labs and helped prepare gel electrophoresis and gel PCRs for various genetic testing, centrifuging DNA components.
- Made sure to test all the genomes of plants.
- Assisted and checked in with other interns.
