About Robinick Fernandez:

Currently as a creative consultant at Wayne Corporation, I help direct creative assets for the national American Asian media platform, JoySauce, and award-winning publication, Seattle magazine. With nearly two decades of experience, I specialize in connecting art and design to drive bold brand strategies for tech companies, hospitality experiences, global fashion retailers, and many other sectors. My creativity has impacted the lives of thousands on the West Coast, Europe, and Asia. As a Fil-Am artist and designer, I am dedicated to promoting environmental sustainability, resilience, and restoration. Let's connect and explore opportunities to elevate your brand and drive results.

The Know-How:

I offer you nearly two decades of award-winning integrative design expertise––a holistic approach to design where I always put people first through multi-modal strategies. With an emphasis on honesty and integrity throughout my design practice, I draw from fashion, music, architecture, and global histories and cultures to innovate dynamic and narrative-driven projects. This is how we most powerfully connect across clients and customers today.

I champion workflows that understand that our past ways of brand building are simply not going to cut it with this new generation of tech and social media-native, justice-oriented, environmentally conscious consumers. I’m a visionary who revels and thrives in challenging environments, launching new product lines and campaigns for prominent companies like Expedia Group, Nordstrom, Amazon, Monorail Espresso, Oculus, Unibail Rodamco Westfield, Kaiser Permanente, Premera, and Palo Alto Medical Foundation––just to name a few.
After opening my design consultancy in 2013, I went on to empower brands and the people behind them to push the boundaries of their industries. From global powerhouses to local and energetic foundations and startups, I love to problem-solve while breaking expectations.

Perspective:

I have led multiple industry-disrupting projects simultaneously. I can do more. I have led multiple departments, from editorial and sales to product development and marketing, and leadership––most close to my heart for instance, justice, equity, diversity, and inclusivity. I can do this with finesse. I’ve mentored multiple emerging and talented designers to help them reach their fullest potential. And I do this all by leading with kindness, collaboration, and keeping a finger on the pulse of all that keeps turning culture on its head.

Experience

I am currently consulting as the Creative Director for a national American Asian multimedia startup, and Seattle magazine, an award-winning publication. While consulting and in the midst of the Covid pandemic, my partner and I opened a contemporary art gallery, From Typhoon, in the heart of Capitol Hill, Seattle.

I have been able to blend my interests in media, publishing, interior and graphic design, and art for the past 17 years. I established and managed design departments for firms through multiple project types including workplace, healthcare, hospitality, and retail. This multimodal approach fostered a more holistic outcome to all of my projects. Part of the success of the many projects I have championed was due to the trust and collaborative efforts of so many talented creatives working together, and for the community engagements that informed our project decisions.

My style of work has a heavy emphasis on leading with kindness, and through generative collaborations. It’s important for me to be at a workplace where there’s a balance of years of experience and an open mindedness–and even a commitment–to new perspectives.

Additionally, something that always drives my design work as a Filipino-American is a practice toward sustainability, ecological resilience, and restoration.

I look forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you for considering my application. Stay Curious.

Sincerely,

Robinick
