About Ricardo Quiñónez Alemán:

I am an artist who likes to create a humanistic and positive impact on places and people where I am. I have an endless passion for creating art and a great love for teaching, training, and mentoring young artists who want to succeed in the arts and humanities. My great curiosity to discover new challenges has generated a large space with unlimited possibilities. My goal is to create artistic spaces as a creative initiative and seek new trends in art as a revolutionary way of thinking, intellect, and reasoning. I have taught foundations as Adjunct Faculty atthe  Center for the Visual and Performing Arts, Owens Community College. I was the President of OLA (Organization of Latino Artists) in Toledo, Ohio. I have worked as full time Faculty Instructor and Drawing department Head at School of Arts in, Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio, and as a Visiting Lecturer at the Department of Visual and Performing Arts, Purdue University. I completed an MFA degree in Studio Arts at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana, in 2007. I completed a BFA degree in Studio Arts at Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi, Texas, in 2002. I have participated in multiple group and solo shows, exhibiting nationally inthe  U.S.A. and internationally in México, Chile, Hungary, Turkey, France, China, Argentina, and India. I have participated as a visiting artist in residency programs in Hungary, México, and the U.S.A. My artwork is in both permanent and private collections nationwide and worldwide in art institutions, museums, and galleries. I have participated in panels, symposiums, conferences, and written papers on art related to psychology, human condition, immigration, symbolism,m and psychoanalysis. I have received awards, grants, scholarships, and fellowships for professional,l artistic, and scholarly research. I am interested in psychoanalytic theories, art theory, contemporary art issues, iconography, symbolism,m and community art-based projects research.
