I am Qiaoyi, currently a student at NYU.

I did a few software engineering internships in the past, most recently at Alibaba. Speaking from my experience, I enjoy solving problems with code and relish in fixing bugs. As an intern at Alibaba, I worked on the backend logic for recurring orders feature in Java to facilitate checkout process for Taobao Pharmacy. I continue to be amazed at the impact of how few lines of code can improve our lives, hence, I desire to pursue a career in software engineering.

Built REST API endpoints to retrieve users’ repeated purchase from MySQL database.

Built CSS Cards to include recurring orders using HTML, CSS, React and JavaScript for Taobao

Phamary checkout page.

Fine-tuned search recommendations based on historical user behavior using K-nearest neighbors algorithm

to improve clickthrough rate by 2.2%.

Improved autocomplete search query using NLTK and Elasticsearch.
