Penny Powers

Penny Powers is a dynamic and accomplished educator, researcher, and instructional designer with over a decade of experience across academic, editorial, and administrative fields. She brings a robust interdisciplinary background in history—particularly ancient, European, and American history—as well as extensive expertise in digital humanities, inclusive pedagogy, and curriculum development for diverse learners.

Penny has designed and delivered engaging instruction in both in-person and virtual environments, teaching subjects ranging from AP World History and U.S. Government to Women’s Studies and Global Studies. She specializes in developing student-centered, accessible curriculum that incorporates educational technology such as Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Unreal Engine 5, and Canva, and has created eLearning content and digital games for platforms like Teachers Pay Teachers.

In her editorial and research roles, Penny has served as a copyeditor and instructional writer for academic publishers, supporting scholars with clarity, citation accuracy, and historical authenticity. Her research spans multiple disciplines including Native American studies, civil rights, and oral history. She has transcribed and preserved historical documents as a volunteer for the Smithsonian Digital Archives and has contributed to the accessibility of primary sources for public scholarship.

With additional experience in healthcare administration, office management, and preschool education, Penny offers a unique blend of academic rigor and real-world adaptability. She is also a published author with academic works on Norse exploration, ancient Greek culture, and early Christian manuscripts.

Penny is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in History and holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees in Classical, Ancient, and European History. She is an active member of several academic honor societies and professional organizations.

Penny Powers is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in History at Liberty University, where her doctoral research explores Native American culture, civil rights, and the development of Western freedoms through a public history lens. She holds a Master of Arts in Classical and Ancient History from American Public University, with a concentration in Greco-Roman civilizations and early Christian texts. Her academic foundation also includes a Bachelor of Arts in European History, focused on medieval to modern European developments, and an Associate of Arts in Business Administration, providing her with a strong interdisciplinary background that integrates historical analysis with organizational insight.
