About pearl wood:
hi! My name is Pearl Wood, and I recently graduated in 2025 from Leslie High School and the Education Program at Wilson Talent Center (WTC). During my two years t WTC, I gained hands on experience in both Preschool and Pre-k classroom settings, where I supported lead teachers and worked directly with children in daily routines, learning activities, and classroom management. Through this program, I developed a strong passion for early childhood education and earned my Child Development Associate (CDA) credential a milestone I'm proud of. my experience includes helping young children build social emotional skills, supporting literacy and play-based learning, and creating a safe and fun environment for growth. I'm enthusiastic, dependable and always ready to jump in to help children learn and thrive.
Experience
As a student teacher in a preschool and pre-k classroom, I supported early childhood education by assisting in the planning and implementation of age appropriate activities that promoted cognitive, social, and emotional development. I collaborated with lead teachers to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment, facilitated small group and one on one instruction, and helped manage classroom routines and behavior. This experience strengthened my skills in child observation, lesson preparation, and effective communication with young children and their families.
Education
I have graduated High School year of 2025 and I completed a two year program in Education at the Wilson Talent Center (WTC), where I gained hands on experience and foundational skills for a future career in teaching and education. Through classroom instruction, fieldwork, and collaboration with peers and educators, I developed a strong understanding of child development, lesson planning, classroom management, and effective teaching strategies. During my time in the program, I earned multiple certifications and credentials, including: CPR/First Aid Certification Mandated Reporter Training, Bloodborne Pathogens Training, Michigan Early Childhood Standards of Quality Familiarization, and Work based learning experience in a real classroom setting. This program strengthened my communication, leadership, and organizational skills, and helped prepare me for post-secondary education or direct entry into the education workforce. I am passionate about working with students and committed to creating positive, supportive learning environments.
