Nathan Jentzsch

I am a registered nurse with a concern for the growing population of people who live with diabetes. Many of these people do not understand how this condition can negatively affect them or what steps they need to take to live a healthy life. I have seen the effects of diabetes in my own family and I have chosen to help others with diabetes.

My easygoing personality creates a comfortable environment for people to learn. I teach a complicated topic in a way that is easy to understand. 

I can educate patients about gestational, type 1, and type 2 diabetes. I can teach others how integral nutrition, exercise, and medication can be in obtaining appropriate glucose levels. By training people to use glucometers, continuous glucose monitors, and pumps I can reduce associated risks and make achieving healthy lifestyle goals more attainable.

I have volunteered with the Utah Valley University Nursing program to do Diabetes education and research for two years in the country of Samoa. I currently work as a Diabetes Educator and will be taking the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators exam next month. I would like to put my knowledge and skills to work for your organization to help educate the public about diabetes.

I have been a registered nurse for 5 years. I have experience on a Medical/Endocrine floor, in an Emergency Room, and as a Diabetes Educator. I have also volunteered with the Utah Valley University Nursing program to do Diabetes education and research for two years in the country of Samoa. I currently work as a Diabetes Educator and will take the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators exam next month.
