About Natalie Walker:

Hi there! My name is Natalie Walker and I am a highly experienced creative director, embroiderer, and design expert with over 20 years of experience in the fashion industry. My passion for embellishment has led me to work with top fashion companies like Reem Acra, Tory Burch, Tuleh, Ralph Lauren, and Marc Jacobs, where I have created innovative solutions that seamlessly integrate into their markets. My international product development background and ability to unify design and production teams have enabled me to consistently ensure a positive and memorable customer brand experience.

My skills include strategic development, communication, and training, as well as a deep knowledge of various techniques like hand embroidery, computer embroidery, tambour beading, French Cornelly machine techniques, crochet, macrame, and knitting. As a talented creative director, I have successfully managed embroidery designs from concept through development production for top fashion brands, generating profits of over 10 million per season. My BFA in Fashion Design and keen interest in ethnography inform my sagacious approach to cross-pollinating stories of color, form, and technique.

My daily mantra is "An idea that is developed and put into action is more important than an idea that exists only as an idea." With my exceptional skills and expertise, I am committed to making the world a more beautiful place one bead at a time. Let me put my passion, experience, and knowledge to work for you and help take your brand to the next level.

Experience

I am an experienced design professional with over 10 years of experience in the fashion industry. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Fashion Design and have a strong background in designing for luxury brands.   I have managed embroidery  and garment factories, overseen product development from concept to shipment, and have experience in product quality control.  My proficiency in embroidery techniques such as Tambour beading and French Cornelly machine techniques showcase my  attention to detail. Additionally, I also have cross-cultural communication skills, having worked with diverse clients in the past.

My skills in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, as well as Microsoft Word and Excel, make you proficient in using the necessary software for the Design Director role. I have a portfolio of my past work that showcases my ability to hand sketch both technical drawings and illustrations. I have experience developing product directly with factories, and understand development from concept through engineering. I have an understanding of materials, fabrics, technical fabrics, and trims, all of which are required for the role.

I have a global viewpoint, cultural sensitivity, and adaptability, all of which are essential in a fashion industry that operates on a global scale. Your experience in forming partnerships, collaborating, influencing, and driving change through strong communication and leadership skills will be valuable in this role. Furthermore, my ability to travel internationally will enable me  to manage and oversee product development from factories worldwide.

It's also worth mentioning that I had a previous business, Walker Sinclair Visuals Inc, where Tory Burch was a customer. This experience further highlights my familiarity with the brand and the industry. Overall, your extensive experience, technical skills, and ability to adapt and collaborate make  me  a strong candidate for the Design Director, RTW Pre-Collection position at Tory Burch.

Education

I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Fashion Design from Moore College of Art in Philadelphia. During my time there, I honed my skills in fashion illustration, pattern-making, and garment construction. The program also emphasized the importance of textile knowledge and color theory in fashion design. Through various internships and projects, I gained experience in the fashion industry, including designing for various clients, overseeing product concept , and understanding the importance of quality control. My education at Moore College of Art has provided me with a strong foundation in fashion design that I continue to build upon in my professional career.
