Narayan Pereda

I am a student studying journalism at the University of Southern California. Growing up in Maui, Hawai'i, my life revolved around playing and watching sports. My earliest memory of Fox Sports was the 2009 MLB season where my New York Yankees won it all. I remember how organized and put together the pre-game shows and telecast called by Joe Buck and the late great Tim McCarver were. Over the years, I have made it my mission to intern at Fox Sports, especially with the evolution of its sports shows. 

Working retail at Lids and Puzzle Zoo, I would help customers with their needs of hats, apparel, and toys. I had the ability to assist customers in three languages to maximize my opportunities on helping them and completing the sale. The most valuable skill I learned was communicating through problems and coming to a resolution. Being able to work in a team with people whom I have never met, taught me the lesson of teamwork, sacrifice, and how to accomplish a sales goal that benefits everyone. 

Some courses I took:

Reporting and Writing 1 and 2: I learned how to report and write for print and TV. It helped enhance my versatility. 

Introduction to Coding for Storytelling: I learned how to code website for digital story telling by using the program Sublime. 

Visual Journalism: I learned how to film and edit videos and pictures on Adobe, while also using posting reels on Instagram.
