Na'Sean Taylor

Hello, I am Sean, an NC State graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in information technology. My time at NC State has given me the knowledge and skills needed to enter the workforce and confidently apply for Various Analyst positions. I have worked for companies such as Caterpillar Inc as a Corporate Intern, where I have done various database and powerBI-related tasks for stakeholders and clients. I am proficient in various coding, visualization, and data management software such as  MySQL, PowerBI, Tableau, Excel, Google Sheets, ArcGIS Pro, TSQL, C#, PHP, SAS, and Python. After securing a position, I plan to go back for my master’s in Computer Science to further my knowledge in a more advanced field in my area. With my skills and experiance in machine learning, data analysis, data visualization, and software coding, I am confident that I would be a valuable asset to any organization that hires me. I will help to fulfill the organization’s goals and uphold any guidelines listed on the organization's mission statement.

I am writing as an North Carolina State University graduate seeking a career in information technology. I have a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Concentration in Information Technology. I offer my skills in machine learning, artificial intelligence, predictive analysis, database development, and computer programing, which I obtained from NC State and Caterpillar during my summer internship. In my resumé, you will find that I had been offered several scholarships from organizations such as Gilman and State Employee’s Credit Union. I also had the opportunity to study abroad in Germany and the United Kingdom while in school. I was inducted into my university’s honors and business analytics honors program in my first and third years. I received certifications in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint and a badge in Snowflake data warehousing during my internship with CAT, which can be found on my LinkedIn webpage. I developed technical skills in software such as Excel, SAS, JMP, MySQL, TSQL Workbench, Snowflake, PowerBI, DevOps, Microsoft and R studios, and many other programs and software. Most of my completed courses in college have been in the A range, and I am still working to maintain my grades even though I am in my final two semesters. I was offered an internship position at Caterpillar Inc during the summer of 2022. I was required to think critically when performing various data reading tasks in Snowflake, TSQL, and PowerBI. I used TSQL and Snowflake to perform tasks involving database applications and machine learning queries. I collaborated with my superiors and co-workers to create a dashboard in PowerBI to determine the drive times of both customers and CAT machines from CAT dealers within and outside of the United States. I also constructed a PowerPoint presentation on the PowerBI dashboard and presented it to many of my colleagues and supervisors. I worked on several technical concepts in DevOps, communicated cause-and-effect solutions with my colleagues in various two-week sprint meetings, and developed flowcharts in MS Visio and Lucid Charts to carry out challenging data-related tasks. My internship at caterpillar allowed me to obtain new skills, diversify my current ones, and build a professional network. My time at Caterpillar will prove beneficial as I apply for a full-time position. I will accept communication via phone or email if any questions arise or to schedule an interview.
