Morgan Kessler

This June, I will graduate summa cum laude and a Phi Beta Kappa scholar with a B.S. in Global Health and a B.A. in Classics from the University of Southern California. Following graduation, I will begin my legal studies at Berkeley Law School. I am interested in roles related to health innovation, intellectual property and the rights of both citizens and corporations.

My professional experience has grown from working a front desk job, triaging homeless families for a non-profit, to various roles in research and leadership for human rights and health promotion. My junior year in college, I conducted both quantitative and qualitative research under USC's Director of Global Health Research on "One Health" policy promotion in Uganda. This research experience was coupled with my time served as Director of Human Rights and, later, President of USC's Policy Research Organization (formerly the Roosevelt Network). Together, these roles have prepared me for policy research, health research, writing and advocacy. 

Additionally, by the start of my junior year, I was serving as Head of Volunteers for NJO Foundation Africa, a Ugandan-led non-profit in Uganda working to establish further access to healthcare, education and clean water for impoverished families. This role has pushed me to lead and organize 40 international volunteers' efforts for fundraising and marketing. Also, my work has included weekly meetings with the head of the non-profit for effective program development. This role continues to bring my Global Health studies to life and has cemented my interest in health promotion and innovation.
