Experience

I teach multiple subjects in a Chinese immersion setting with a progressive education approach, leading curriculum development through project-based learning and implementing ACTFL-aligned Mandarin instruction. I foster positive global perspectives by integrating cultural storytelling, history, and arts into language learning while incorporating technology tools such as Quizlet, iChineseReader, Seesaw, Google Workspace, and Microsoft to enhance student engagement. In addition to classroom teaching, I tutor middle and high school students, focusing on grammar, sentence structure, vocabulary expansion, and reading and writing skills. I integrate listening and speaking practice through real-life conversations and scenario-based exercises while introducing Chinese culture, literature, history, idioms (Chengyu), and character etymology to deepen students’ understanding of the language and its cultural context.

Education

I earned a Master of Arts in Global Youth Development from the University of Montana in 2016, where I focused on educational strategies, cross-cultural communication, and youth engagement to support diverse learning communities.
