About Kyrk Morris:
A seasoned Restorative Justice practitioner, with over 20 years of experience working with young people and adults in various education, recreation, social and justice systems. I have dedicated my life to creating positive change in individual lives and the systems which have impact on young people, families and communities.
Experience
Currently the Case Manager at Communities for Restorative Justice, where I oversee a caseload of responsible parties working through Restorative processes to make amends for actions which have risen to the level of a criminal offense.
Prior to this position I spent five years with Suffolk University's Center for Restorative Justice as a Restorative Justice Trainer, providing training and technical support to clients across the country. Our clients were discovering how to implement Restorative Justice Practices in their schools, districts, court systems and organizations.
Prior to joining the Center for Restorative Justice I worked within the Cambridge Public Schools in various capacities including: substitute teacher, student support specialist, Restorative Justice Coordinator and performed an internship while doing my CAGS principalship studies, with a middle school principal.
Other relevant experiences include years of work with young people in out of school time, summer youth employment, sports and recreation programs. I have been a counselor for adjudicated youth, a special educator within residential and detention settings and a Child Abuse Victim Advocate and Bailiff within the Atlanta Municipal Court.
I have worked in private, public and the nonprofit settings and have coached, supported, mentored and provided guidance to those interested in learning how to implement non-punitive but effective responses to harm as well as developing pro-social behaviors and practices within Communities that reduce the likelihood of disruptive behaviors.
