About Miguel Macias:

Hi, my name is Miguel "The Assist" Macias and I am a Student Success Specialist at Bitwise Industries. I grew up on a small ranch in Riverdale, CA and as a former DACA recipient, I faced limited options in education and career choices. 

Despite facing challenges in my past, including a decade of experience in customer service roles within the automotive industry, I have learned the value of hard work and dedication. My journey began as a cashier at Five Guys Enterprises. This catapulted my success as an Assistance Store Training Manager which led to roles as an experienced driver Assistant Manager and temp Store Manager at O'Reilly Auto Parts These experiences have shaped me into the person I am today and prepared me for my current role as a Student Success Specialist at Bitwise Industries.

Prior to my current role, I was an apprentice at Bitwise Industries where I had the opportunity of a lifetime to "Assist" and help co-teach a website for beginners course as I worked as an Inside Sales Apprentice for Bitwise Industries. Before that, I was a student at Bitwise Workforce Training where I learned intro to CSS, HTML, and JavaScript.

However, I have found that by paying it forward and contributing to the success of others, I have been able to open up unimaginable doors here at Bitwise.

As for my goals and aspirations, I want to combine my skills in customer service with my passion for technology and fuse them together with a unique twist. Specifically, I am interested in incorporating tech, music, automobiles, and nerdy topics. While I have not yet found the solution, I am working on it.
I also want to use the skills and knowledge I gain at Bitwise to find my calling and help others along the way by empowering others, we not only help them reach their full potential, but we also create a ripple effect of positivity and success. Whether it's through guidance, motivation, or simply believing in their abilities, empowering others can have a lasting impact on their lives and the world around them.
In the near future, I envision myself traveling and assisting others in achieving their goals. My ultimate goal is to help as many people as possible reach their dreams and share life hacks with them to make the journey easier.

I am grateful for the opportunities that Bitwise has provided me and am excited to continue growing my skills and career with the company.

Experience

During this time I will be attached to Bitwise’s Workforce Training department. Using tools like: Salesforce, Monday.com, G suit, Zoom, and Slack, we helped coding students register for coding classes. We followed each student from their first class to their last class. Our goal was to encourage each student to continue and test their coding skills whether each class landed them a role with Bitwise or any of our partnership for an opportunity to succeed.

Education

As a student for Bitwise Industries “Geekwise Academy”. I started my journey in coding in 2020. I was able to grasp the following concepts: Introduction to HTML and CSS, coding with BootStrap through their Mobile Friendly course, and finally JavaScript
