Experience
I’m a Registered Nurse with active licensure since 2001 and a Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON) status since 2008. I bring over two decades of experience in clinical practice, leadership, and education, with a specialized focus in wound and ostomy care, both inpatient and outpatient.
Since 2001, I’ve served in progressive roles at Luminis Health/Anne Arundel Medical Center, including Medical-Surgical Nurse, Nurse Manager of the Wound Center, and Lead Inpatient/Outpatient Wound Ostomy Nurse. In my current role as an Inpatient Wound Ostomy Nurse, I provide expert consultation, staff education, and policy-driven care to reduce hospital-acquired conditions and improve patient outcomes. My practice is grounded in evidence-based protocols, interdisciplinary collaboration, and a commitment to clinical excellence.
Beyond the hospital, I’ve worked in public health coordination, grant writing, and community facilitation. I currently serve as a facilitator for Loss and New Beginnings at Saint James Episcopal Church in Lothian, Maryland, supporting individuals through grief and transition. I’m passionate about lifelong learning, mentoring, and advancing nursing practice through education and advocacy.
Education
My academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Community Health from the University of Maryland, an Associate of Science in Nursing from Wesley College, and advanced wound ostomy training through webWOC and Metro State University, including 100 clinical hours at Johns Hopkins and Anne Arundel Medical Center.
