Dr. Michael Nelson established the dental office of Michael J Nelson, DDS in February of 2008. 

Some of Dr. Nelson’s favorite aspects of dentistry are forming connections with patients through personal conversations and helping each patient achieve their healthiest smiles. Over the years, he’s had the privilege of working with patients of diverse backgrounds and ages, and he always looks forward to greeting new and familiar faces.

Dr. Nelson is passionate about providing exceptional care, and he takes pride in helping patients have a comfortable, pain-free experience. Among the comprehensive dental services Dr. Nelson offers are high-quality restorations, customized cosmetic dentistry, Invisalign, root canal therapy, and treatment planning for hygiene patients. 

Dr. Nelson is a dedicated father of two children, Jayden and Rowan, and dog dad to his family’s beloved black Labrador, Obi. Dr. Nelson and his family enjoy spending weekends at their cabin in northern Minnesota, where they play card games, fish in the pristine lakes and rivers, and relax by the campfire. 

He earned his Bachelor of Science in biochemistry at the University of Nevada in Reno and his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 2004. After finishing his collegiate studies, he completed his dental residency with the Minneapolis VA Health Care System.
