Hello, I’m Melanie Loperena. Art has been my passion for as long as I can remember. My inspiration comes from a blend of dreams, emotions, and the media that shapes my world. I infuse these elements of my identity to create colorful, whimsical art that often weaves in touches of fantasy, flora, and fauna—a reflection of my lifelong fascination with fairytales. Rather than sticking to a single medium, I enjoy experimenting with a variety of materials. Outside of creating art, I’m a cinephile, a music lover, and a devoted cat enthusiast.

Learned various illustrative techniques and also refined basic drawing and painting skills. Classwork was a mix of drawing from models and also given prompts with creative freedom. Prompts included book covers, film posters, and editorial pieces. Minored in Film Studies and Art History. Was awarded the Departmental Award and First Place award in the Graduation Exhibition.
