MD Oliur Rahman

I am a graduate researcher in Mechanical Engineering at Louisiana Tech University, currently pursuing a PhD in Micro and Nanoscale Systems with hands-on experience in industrial energy assessments through the U.S. DOE’s IAC program. My academic and project work span mechanical design, materials characterization, and computational modeling using tools like COMSOL, ANSYS, and Python. I am passionate about applying engineering innovation and data-driven analysis to improve sustainability, manufacturing efficiency, and public-impact technologies.

I have worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Industrial Assessment Center (IAC) at Louisiana Tech University, where I conduct on-site industrial audits, collect data using sensors and loggers, and analyze systems to improve energy efficiency. As an Instructor of Record for the Industrial Sustainability course, I teach key topics such as GHG emissions, wastewater calculations, lean manufacturing, and compressor efficiency. I also serve as a Teaching Assistant for Capstone Senior Design, advising student teams and evaluating technical reports. My experience combines practical fieldwork, teaching, and applied engineering analysis, particularly in the context of sustainable industrial operations.

I hold a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Louisiana Tech University, where I focused on energy efficiency, industrial sustainability, and computational modeling. I am currently pursuing a PhD in Micro and Nanoscale Systems, expanding my expertise in materials characterization and data-driven engineering solutions. Additionally, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from BUET, one of the top engineering institutions in Bangladesh.
