About Matthew Davenport:
I am completing my undergraduate at Santa Clara University in computer engineering. Apart from the typical curriculum of software engineers, I have also studied AI and machine learning. I am currently working on an application that using machine learning to predict avalanche dangers in the backcountry for recreationalists to use in their trip planning for risk mitigation.
In my freetime I like to climb, snowboard, and do anything else that can get me out into the mountains. If I can't, I enjoy playing guitar and piano, or working on side projects that interest me.
Experience
All my projects have been done on personal time. Myself and 2 others are working on a machine learning project to predict avalanche forecasts with an entire front end to present the information in a user-friendly way. I have also built my own portfolio website and a C compiler.
I have done 4 years in the U.S. Marine Corps infantry, where I was a squad leader in charge of 16 marines.
