Matt Roe

Illustrator, motion graphics animator and graphic designer with 2+ years industry experience in advertising. 

My professional experience as an illustrator and graphic designer combined with my enthusiasm for pop culture and anime makes me a perfect fit for the role of 2D Graphic Designer/Illustrator. I have 2+ years of professional experience designing and illustrating content for brands. 

While working for Curiosity Advertising, I illustrated production-ready assets while following brand guidelines. I actively participated and contributed to team brainstorms and content pitches. One session required me to design 10+ characters based on “what lives in your pipes.”  

I understand style guides and can design within guidelines both accurately and creatively.  I am experienced in Adobe Creative Cloud; specializing in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and After effects. My multitasking and organizational skills allow me to thrive in a fast paced environment. I enjoy juggling multiple projects that require a quick turnover.

 

I have a bachelors in Fine Arts with a minor of Electronic media from UC DAAP, a five-year arts and design school from which I graduated with a 3.9 GPA. 

During my studies I learned how to apply design principles to character creation for successful worldbuilding. I learned about manufacturing techniques and how they apply to the small artist versus a corporation. As a former fashion major, I have knowledge of trend forecasting, merchandising and sewing practices. I have also personally merchandised my own work by creating zines, stickers, pins, prints, patches and shirts. 

I want to be a part of the merchandising pipeline, and I believe my personal and professional experience makes me the best choice for Just Funky.
