Mary Schexnayder

I am a recent graduate from Southeastern Louisiana University who graduated with honors in both general academics and my field specifically. I am looking for a school system that values student growth and is willing to try new methods to achieve it! My past employers have told me I bring a positive attitude to the work place and I would love the opportunity to bring it into my own classroom. I want to encourage students to make mistakes and celebrate them as a process of learning. I hope to hear from you soon!

I just completed my one year residency at Ponchatoula Highschool where I acted as a Coteacher for 9th grade students. During my residency I was able to demonstrate me skills in behavior management, creation of instructional content, and presenting content while keeping studnets engaged. 

 I also have several years of experience as the Sunday art teacher while working at Micheals arts and crafts store where I had to alter tasks to suit the needs and abilities of a wide range of people. I have worked with customers ranging from 3- 50 and was able to successfully meet their needs.

I have received my English Secondary Education diploma this year from Southeastern Louisiana University.
