Mary Louise Rogers

Hi! My name is Mary Louise Rogers and I am a current Junior at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, majoring in Strategic Communication and double minoring in Psychology and Social Work. Currently seeking an internship for Summer 2023 in the Public Relations/Marketing/Advertising field in order to expand my knowledge and gain experience in the workforce. I am a hard worker, always eager to try something new, and an extremely dependable team member.

Clearly Handbags, Sales Staff Member

January 2021 – December 2023

Work for RM Rynd Interiors and Clearly Handbags in Fort Worth, TX part-time while enrolled in classes at Texas Christian University. Help with organizing interior goods, packaging purses for buyers, fulfilling online orders, and other necessary tasks for the company. Ready items for sales floor stocking by affixing tags and preparing shelf labels. Additionally helped out at shows and events where the company's products are being sold. 

Hanover West Swim Team, Swim Team Coach 

Mary 2019 – July 2021

Swim team coach from mid-May to beginning of July for two summer seasons. Coached during both 2019 and 2021 season, 2020 season was cancelled due to COVID. Coached children varying in age from 3 to 15 years old and skill levels. 

Mitylene Boutique, Sales Associate 

June 2019 – July 2020

Worked at Mitylene Clothing Boutique as part-time Sales Associate during both summer and free time during senior year of high school. Worked during the week and would also run the store on Saturdays. Kept store orderly and made sure it consistently looked presentable to customers. Helped customers with clothing and accessories and fulfilled online orders. Prepared merchandise for sales floor by pricing or tagging.

• Served as the Assistant VP Member Selection for Delta Delta Delta during Fall Recruitment 2022. Helped with organizing documents for Recruitment and other important tasks. 

Community Service: 

Delta Delta Delta Sorority

• Helped raised money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee by participating in the annual letter writing campaign and participating in the annual Delta Dunkfest fundraiser. Also specifically work with Cook Children's Hospital in Fort Worth and have helped raise money for this organization through volunteering in both philanthropy events that take place each year.

• Nancy Fraser Parker was a lady of great commitment, who was involved with many outstanding philanthropic projects throughout the city of Atlanta and was devoted to The Westminster Schools. This award recognizes two Juniors, 1 girl and 1 boy, who are engaged, good citizens in the daily life of the campus, and embody integrity, courage, trustworthiness, spirit, humor, and friendliness.

WCAT - 11, 12

• WCAT is an Emmy Award-winning student-run broadcast program at Westminster. I was a live sideline reporter for the football program, hosted a talk show called “M&M Talk”, and was an occasional news reporter or anchor for the WCAT Weekly News.

Yearbook Lynx - 10, 11, 12

• Applied and accepted to the Lynx Yearbook staff. Held positions of designing spreads and Fall Content Editor being in charge of editing all the pages in the Fall Section. In 2019-20, I was awarded the Co-Head Editor position and led a team of 40 staff members to put together the 600-page yearbook for our K-12 school, faculty, and staff. We met at least twice a week every week before school as yearbook was not a high school class. Every year that I was on the Yearbook Staff, I held a new leadership position.

Girls Empowered in Relationships, Leadership, and Service (G.E.R.L.S) - 10, 11, 12 

• G.E.R.L.S. is a mentorship program designed to help middle school and ninth- grade girls in their transition to high school. I met weekly with 7th-grade girls' homeroom and served as a mentor to them. I also met monthly with a cohort of other girls in my grade to discuss important issues both in and outside our community like gender and racial issues along with working to serve our community.

Community Service: 

National Charity League - 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12

• Mothers and daughters volunteering at various non-profit organizations around Atlanta. Have been a member since 7th grade and took on a new leadership role every year. I was a Class Co-President my senior year. Some of the non- profit organizations that my mom and I volunteered with include Agape, City of Refuge, and Meals on Wheels.

Circle of Women - 9, 10, 11, 12

• Circle of Women is a non-profit organization that raises money for girls with no access to education. Made baked goods for fundraisers and did other various activities to help raise money for the main service project every year.
