Marie Delabarrera

An experienced counseling intern who integrates unconditional positive regard to clinically based practices for individuals seeking mental health care. Demonstrates a passion to provide care to underserved populations, and integrate culture into therapeutic alliance between counselor and client. Graduating in May 2023, Marie is excited to enter into the counseling field professionally and hopes to continue to make a tremendous difference in her community. 

As a Clinical Mental Health Intern both ethical and legal standards are upheld to provide therapy to individuals seeking assistance in managing their mental health concerns. Additional responsibilities included guiding clients through utilizing therapeutic strategies and interventions such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, and psychotherapy, administering assessments, and creating detailed case-notes to document progress made in therapeutic sessions.

Maries most recent education is finalizing currently, as she is in her last semester of a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC). This degree is designed to equip clients with strategies and frameworks that can lead to a healthier and more stable mental health. Often, this type of counseling helps address concerns with symptoms associated with depression, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, loss of a loved one, workplace stress, trauma, and other factors that could be causing excessive stress in an individuals life. Clinical Mental health professionals undergo vigorous training, and educational requirements such as obtaining a CMHC degree from an accredited university.
