I am a RVT working in small animal practice for 16 years.  I am skilled with blood draws, catheter placements, intubation and other such skills used in a small animal vet clinic.  However,  running and processing lab samples along with teaching new technicians the skills that are needed in both lab and clinic are one of may favorite parts of the job. 

throughout the years of working in a small animal practice I have had to opportunity to work on my skills of client education, anesthetic monitoring, cleaning and sterilizing instruments, equipment Maintinance, handling and running laboratory samples, multi tasking, filling and handling medications, and many more.  

my most recent skills I have been working on have been collecting urine samples via ultrasound guided Cystocentesis.  I have also been working on my skills of reading ear cytologies.  I have had limited opportunity to study FNA cytologies though when presented with an opportunity I attempt to learn as much as I can about it.
