Staff Developer at Literacy Partners - I am a consultant at a literacy consulting company providing world-class professional development to educators.
Experience
My passion for equity and experience with instructional leadership are assets I would bring to my work at Campbell Hall. After 12 years as a classroom teacher, I became a staff developer for Literacy Partners, where I honed my skillset in providing high-quality professional development to teachers and administrators. Through this role, I have worked with ten schools across four school districts to provide tailored professional development and support to kindergarten through eighth grade teachers, their instructional coaches, and their administrators. The scope of my work has given me access to multiple school communities, and I have been able to determine facets of the most effective learning environments and models of leadership. I have also been able to deepen my content knowledge across all grade levels and broaden my understanding of effective school systems as a responsive coach and leader.
Education
I have continued my own education through multiple professional development opportunities. I completed the SUNY New Paltz Science of Reading Fundamentals Microcredential in January, 2025. I have also received extensive training from The Teachers College Reading and Writing Project in New York, Metamorphosis in New York, Responsive Classroom in Sacramento, CA, and Growing Educators in Oakland, CA. As a teacher at Oakwood School, I had the opportunity to participate in a white anti-racist educator group, facilitated by Jason David of Facing History and Ourselves. This deepened my own understanding of systemic racism and reinforced my dedication to courageous conversations and self-reflection. In addition, I was awarded the NCTE Donald H. Graves Award for Excellence in the Teaching of Writing in 2016, and this honor highlighted my belief in the transformative power of literacy and incredible work that comes from elevating student voices.
