Liam Easley

My most recent work experience in journalism was with Taos News, a local newspaper in Taos, New Mexico. As one of their reporters, I covered education, business, public safety and the courts on a weekly basis. The role allowed me to fully realize myself as a journalist, juggling public meetings, one-on-one and group interviews on a daily basis while submitting anywhere from five to nine researched and fact-checked articles each week.

My blogging experience goes back to 2016, when I started a music criticism blog in high school. In college, I started Cedar Valley Amplified, a blog covering the local metal and hardcore music scenes surrounding my school in Iowa. These scenes had gone without coverage for years before I started my blog, which covered concerts, band interviews, album releases and more.

In college, I wrote for my school's biweekly paper, The Trumpet. In 2019, I stepped up to the position of editor for the paper's arts and entertainment section. In this capacity, I monitored a group of student journalists, gathered story ideas, edited their work and laid out my pages.

As for filmmaking, I am an avid screenwriter and have completed one short film during the COVID-19 pandemic. In college, I completed an award-winning documentary with five other classmates.

In 2021, I graduated from Wartburg College with a BA in journalism and communication. I minored in creative writing.
