Kevin Cawood

Hello! I am Kevin Cawood, a Junior attending Lehigh University's P.C. Rossin College of Engineering, majoring in Computer Science with a minor in Data Science. After my software engineering Internship at Iron Mountain in 2023, I am looking to continue my growth as a developer and data scientist. I am passionate about and proficient in a number of programming languages such as Java, Python, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, and querying languages like SQL. During my time at Iron Mountain, I worked on web front-end development and Machine Learning tools, receiving two awards from my managers and teammates for excellence and communication. I am excited for an opprutuinty to work in person in a fast-paced environment alongside like-minded people.

During the summer of 2023, I worked as a Software Engineering Intern at Iron Mountain. While in this role, I was responsible for both developing a web front-end and developing a machine-learning tool for an important new product. The web front allowed clients to upload large volumes of legal documents. The machine-learning tool identified document types, as well as their key attributes and fields. Each day, I participated in a standup meeting, reporting and demoing my progress and building on the feedback given by my team. Further, I received two awards from my manager and teammates for excellence and communication. While I enjoyed this remote internship, I believe that I would greatly benefit from an in-person internship.

I am currently working as a teaching assistant at Lehigh University's Introduction to Programming in Java class. I attend twice weekly labs, assisting and instructing students with the various coursework. Outside of this, I am available for help 24/7 on the class forum and I grade and give feedback on exams and assignments.

Furthermore, I am working at the university's technology help desk. Here, I assist both students and faculty with technological issues, both hardware and software-based. I communicate with customers explaining the situation, as well as updating them on the progress of repairs.

Currently, I am a Junior at Lehigh University's P.C. Rossin College of Engineering as a Computer Science major and Data Science minor, where my current Major GPA is 3.5. Some relevant coursework includes:
