About Kendra Hawkins:

I am looking for an internship in Natural Resources - Water Quality.  With my education, I have gained some background in hydrology, forest management, and flora and fauna identification. I also hold an Advanced SCUBA Diver certification and was able to attend the renown shark preserve in Fiji, providing me firsthand experience in making field observations, taking field measurements, managing and summarizing data, as well as writing daily summary reports

Experience

     GREEN RIVER COLLEGE NATURAL RESOURCE ASSOCIATE DEGREE (Water Quality) EXPERIENCE 

  • Monitor stream, lake, and wetland systems for water quality and functions of physical, biological, and chemical parameters utilizing a Quadrant Compass and Clinometer. 
  • ArcGIS Tools including: ArcMap, ArcCatalog, ArcToolbox and ArcGIS Online. Hands-on practical exercises using field data in various formats including shapefiles, raster, geodatabase feature classes, GPX, and surface features datasets.
  • Mapped locations of flora, fauna, and water features in specific areas.
  • Apply environmental regulations regarding stream and wetland protection.
  • Performed stream and wetland typing.
  • Identified plants and animals using taxonomic keys.
  • Assisted in wetlands delineation and GPS/mapping their location.
